A Decade of Empowering People to Save a Life

Since 2012, through years of global change and even a global pandemic, we have been working closely alongside the Disque Foundation to provide advanced healthcare education to people worldwide. The Disque Foundation is a non-profit organization that works toward spreading healthcare knowledge and technology to the individuals, communities, and nations across the globe who need it the most. As we reflect on the last 10 years, we know that we couldn’t have chosen a better organization to partner with, or a better mission to assist in fulfilling.

Our Partnership with the Disque Foundation

In 2012, NHCPS and the Disque Foundation partnered to establish the Save a Life Initiative (SALI). In the first year of our partnership, NHCPS was able to fully fund the Disque Foundation’s overseas medical mission trip to the Philippines. Through the development of our SALI, in this one trip alone, the Disque Foundation’s team was able to repair 50 hernias, conduct 4 C-sections, treat trauma patients, and certify a community of volunteer firefighters in Basic Life Support. In 2015, NHCPS announced that it would entirely own and fund the international and domestic mission work of the Disque Foundation. Last year alone, in 2021, the Disque Foundation’s SALI Trainers empowered more than 5,600 lives through 180 events.

The Disque Foundation has continued to inspire us throughout the years and has empowered us to empower others. Our success in educating people through our SALI encouraged us to recenter around our mission and prompted our rebranding as Save a Life certifications in 2019. Later in 2019, one year ahead of schedule, the Disque Foundation reached one million people empowered to save a life.

Three Million Lives Empowered Despite Global Pandemic

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic beginning in 2020, the Disque Foundation’s Empowerment Team worked tirelessly to ensure the foundation was prepared for the spike in demand for online courses. To address this demand, in 2021, the Disque Foundation and Save a Life certifications by NHCPS provided over 787,000 free certifications. From 2015 to 2021, together, we have given away approximately 123 million USD in free healthcare certifications.

In April of 2022, two years after the pandemic began, the Disque Foundation reached 4 million people empowered to save a life. Our courses, certifications, and training have remained available and accessible, despite years of continuous global unrest. The entire world changed, but our mission to empower everyone to save a life remains constant.

How We Do It

The idea behind our SALI is that when we provide the knowledge and skills to perform CPR and other proven life-saving techniques to people all across the world, the power to save lives is within everyone. When you pay for one of our online courses, that profit does not go into someone’s pocket. Instead, proceeds are directed toward ensuring individuals in underserved communities worldwide gain access to life-saving education.

As of June 2022, ten years after its founding, the Disque Foundation has empowered over 4 million lives in more than 182 countries. The foundation has set an astounding goal to empower 10 million people by 2025 and is projected to achieve it! As we watch the Disque Foundation’s growth over the years, we could not be more proud of the amazing life-saving work it has done and will continue to do!
